shared memory

A wonderful collaboration between Chris Ware and "This American Life" illustrates the slippage of memory...
In my own history, my memories get sloshed the most frequently with my sister, Teal's. There was also one time that I was telling someone a story about my cousin Eric, and in the middle of the story I froze as I realized that I was actually recounting an episode of the Cosby Show. Something about Theo Huxtable had always reminded me of my cousin.

I've so done this, remembering something that happened to someone else so vividly as if it happened to me! Bizarre how our mind files stories away like that.
